The Orioles 2017 Spring Training season opens Friday, February 24, with an away game in Lakeland, FL against the Detroit Tigers. The Orioles will open their home schedule two days later, Sunday, February 26, with a 1:05 p.m. game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota. The Grapefruit League season will conclude with the club's home-finale on Thursday, March 30, against the Tigers. The 2017 season marks the eigth consecutive Spring Training season for the Orioles in Sarasota, and the seventh at the "Field of the Year" for professional baseball, according to the Sports Turf Managers Association.

Baltimore will face eight different opponents during their 17-game home Grapefruit League campaign. The Orioles will host the Philadelphia Phillies three times at Ed Smith Stadium and the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins, Pittsburgh Pirates, Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays twice each. The Orioles will also square off against their division rival New York Yankees once at Ed Smith Stadium on Monday February 27.

Individual game tickets can be purchased in person at the Orioles Box Office at Ed Smith Stadium located at 12th Street and Tuttle Avenue in Sarasota. Call the Orioles Spring Training line at 941-893-6300 to receive an order form.

Parking at the stadium is $9.
No umbrellas, hard-sided coolers, thermoses, glass bottles, cans or alcoholic beverages are permitted into the ballpark. You must leave these items in your vehicle before entering the ballpark.

Non-alcoholic beverages in plastic bottles are permitted into the park. All items will be checked at the gates and any beverage which has been opened or partially consumed prior to entry is subject to confiscation if it is thought to contain alcohol. In addition, no plastic or paper cups of beverages are permitted into the park at the entry gates.

All items permitted into the ballpark will be inspected. No bags or items exceeding the maximum size of 16" x 16" x 8" are allowed into the ballpark. Permitted items must easily fit into a 16" x 16" x 8" container. Bags on wheels are prohibited.

No containers or unauthorized items can be left at any park entrance. You will be asked to return them to your vehicle.

No re-entry will be permitted. Once you enter the ballpark, you will not be permitted to leave and re-enter the facility. Please make sure you have everything you need with you before entering the ballpark.

Additionally, as part of the World Baseball Classic exhibition schedule, the Orioles will host the defending champion Dominican Republic team on Tuesday March 7. In 2013, the Dominican Republic defeated Puerto Rico to claim the World Baseball Classic crown.

The Orioles will play 17 road games during the Spring Training season, including four trips to play the Pirates, two visits to Port Charlotte to play the Rays and the O's will visit the Red Sox, Tigers Twins and Yankees twice each. The Orioles will visit the Blue Jays, Braves and Phillies once.

Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to Ed Smith Stadium for camp in mid February. Position players will report the following week. Fans are invited to watch the team's workouts on the back fields at the complex each day. There is no charge to attend, and free parking is available.
