Sugar & Spice Restaurant
of Sarasota Review

For details on Sugar & Spice, click here.

Anonymous party of 4 had dinner and ordered meatloaf, country fried steak, chicken parmesan, bread, chocolate cake, oatmeal cake rated the food excellent because "very well seasoned, beautifully presented" and writes on Thursday, May 11, 2006, "The meatloaf was served with gravy, not tomato sauce...delicious! the country fried steak was perfect. we ordered chocolate cake and oatmeal cake, as well as a loaf of bread and a jar of apple butter (that was served on each table with the bread served with the meal) to take home...we served it to guests at our home the next day...what a fabulous end to our meal. I love this restaurant and recommend it to anyone coming near Sarasota."

keith and lyn oope and a party of 4 had dinner at Sugar & Spice and ordered beef, chicken, pies and rated the food excellent because, "well cooked" and writes on November 27, 2004, "staff, food and surroundings are excellent
we were made to feel welcome and as visitors from England its great to feel welcome having been coming to Sarasota for a few years now we can recommend dinning at sugar and spice."

Antonio San Marco had lunch at Sugar & Spice and writes on 12/13/2002: "The food, ambiance and service were all EXCELLENT. Most impressive was how the wait staff worked quietly - no clatter of plates etc. My waitress was VERY demure, graceful and lady like. She placed things gently on the table and had a ready smile. She seemed totally and peace. Of course, I fell instantly in love with her!! The food was tasty - as good as anything of comparable price which I have eaten in Sarasota. I ate breaded cod. FOUR LARGE pieces + baked potato, and excellent largish salad and bread. This cost slightly over $10. I added chocolate cake as a desert - it was TWICE the size of the usual slice. That added $2.45 to the bill."

Kevin Staats of Ohio writes on 5/2/00: "Every year around June we travel down to Siesta Key to stay for 2 weeks. I love it down there, and a highlight is always going to Sugar & Spice because we don't have one up here. We've been going there ever since I can remember. I usually get their Spegitti (sorry) or chicken. I love everything I get. The salad, the meal, the bread, and most important dessert. I get chocolate cake, and I have to say it is the best chocolate cake I have ever had. I would have to say that Sugar & Spice (and Yoder's) are my favorite Amish Restaurants"

Stephanie Fay of Ohio has visited S&S 4 times and writes on 2/22/00, "My experience at this restaurant was excellent. The food was excellent. We ate dinner there, our favorite: the turkey and dressing. Always served fast and hot. Has a great home atmosphere with very friendly help. Would recommend to anyone. You can't leave without having dessert. If you are full then take it home because if you don't you are missing out. They have a huge variety and is always fresh!"
