An anonymous writer rates the food excellent
because, "The food was cooked to perfection, served in excellent
sauces. You also can't beat cooking in front of you." and writes on
1/16/2004: "I love this restaurant! Shogun is a little different
from your average restaurant. If you aren't familiar with
Japanese restaurants, here's how it works. First, you order.
It's a simple Steak, Shrimp, Scallops, Chicken, or a combination
of 2 of those. They bring an onion soup and a garden salad
without you ordering. Then the chef comes, cooks in front of
you, and serves you. That's it. Together, we had everything on
the menu. All the meals come with vegetables, and ginger and soy
sauce. The onion soup I do not care for, but it is of high
quality. The salad is outstanding, with a tangy flavor. Cooking
in front of you is fantastic. All the different meals were
outstanding. They managed to make normally tasteless vegetables
amazing. The shrimp isn't chewy, it's tender and succulent, same
for the chicken. Ambiance is only ok, the interior is very
outdated and it's pretty easy to tell how the restaurant was
haphazardly expanded because the decor doesn't match. The chef
that serves you always does a great job, doing tricks with
knives and fire. It's a fun experience, and they're always
funny. The wine list is excellent, and the restaurant is very
clean. Kids would love it here, and it's worth the money. "
