Stan Grey has been to Moore's 3 times and rates the food excellent and writes on 4/19/2204:  "As Longboat Key timeshare owners, we were introduced by new friends to Moore's with 3 days to go in our week. It was love at first bite, as the large stone crabs were world class and reasonably priced for stone crabs) at $50.00 for a huge portion. We returned each remaining night and have dreamed about their stone crabs all year long. We'll be back in Longboat Key on April 24, and can't wait to visit Moore's. Although the wait can be long, getting a drink at the bar and sitting outside at the dock in the early evening is extremely mellow and pleasant."

Chris Madley writes on 10/7/2001: "Taking a few days out from visiting the theme parks of Orlando we were staying in Longboat Key. Friends at home in England had recommended it and had also said that we must visit Moore's Stone crab restaurant while we were there. Well it wasn't the easiest place to find but well worth it. My daughter and I love seafood, my wife and son are not so keen. All out tastes were catered for, though the menu is quite rightly; considering the location heavily biased towards fish and shellfish. Service was fast and friendly and we had timed our visit well as the place soon filled up. Our choices ranged from my 13 year old sons filet mignon which he declared excellent and cooked just as requested to my mixed plate of stuffed flounder broiled shrimp and scallops, my daughter chose the home made crab cake sandwich, a barbeque pork sandwich for my wife, side dishes included perfectly adequate though we thought rather heavily dressed green salads, fries and a good clam chowder. We also had a portion of the homemade hush puppies which was a first for the rest of the family. The house Californian cabernet sauvignon was fine. What the interior lacks in sophistication it makes up for in atmosphere and location fronting directly on /over the water. In fact I went back next morning for a photograph and was sorry they didn't do breakfast. The cost of the meal represented excellent value and a return visit would be a certainty if we only lived a little closer than southern England."

Tracey Morrison writes, "Every summer when my family come down to the Sarasota area Moore's is the first restaurant that we eat at. I love every thing about it. The waterfront dinner is the finest in my book. They have the best food and everything. Thank Moore's for making my vacation in Sarasota so very special to me."

A.L. writes, "Ever since I went to visit down Longboat Key with my parents, our first stop for dinner has always been Moore's Stone Crab. Just the stone crabs alone are worth the wait if need be. Not to mention that the whole menu is just scrumptious. I even got a chance to use Moore's web site this past Christmas and ordered a huge feast that fed six hungry adults. We sure licked our fingers after that meal. And considering that I live in New York and Moore's is out of Florida, I was very impressed with the freshness that the seafood was in when I received it. To sum it all up, I highly recommend Moore's Stone Crab to anyone who loves seafood. I'm sure glad I found this place."
