Daniel Mullock
party of 80 had dinner at Cafe L'Europe and rated the salmon and
strip steak excellent because, "Strip steak, salmon for our
rehearsal dinner was excellent; meat and salmon were tender,
flavorful" and writes on March 24, 2007, "On March 16, 2007 my
wife and I hosted a rehearsal dinner there for a party of 80. We
had five appetizers and a cheese buffet along with sauvignon
blanc, chardonnay and shiraz served by the brilliant waite staff
prior to our sitdown dinner of salmon or medium rare strip
steak. Dinner began with a honey/bourbon pecan salad with
cornbread croutons. Simply terrific; the salad was cold and
fresh, the steak warm and tasty, the fish texture perfect. Bill
the manager, the chef, and the entire staff reminded us of
dining in Belgium with their intelligent dedication to excellent
food and service. Our guests raved about the affair and continue
to do so. What a terrific, first class place to dine. "

Marty Paris writes on
4/14/2003: "We were a party of ten,4 of us ordered onion
soup, this came out cold and had to be sent back. at least 5 of
the main courses had to be reheated because they were cold. You
would think of all the problems we had that they would apologize
and offer you a after dinner drink-nothing.They were so
snotty, this was my worst dining experience in the Sarasota
area, and I do frequent the best restaurants in town."
Irwin Singer writes
on 11/7/2002: "My favorite thing to do is eat in excellent
restaurants. I feel that this restaurant Cafe L'Europe not only
has been one of my favorites, but in our opinion this is the
finest restaurant in the Sarasota area. This restaurant beats
"Beach Bistro" hands down, although the "Bistro" is truly
excellent and special, but it does not have the same Ambiance as
this Cafe. Every meal we have sampled & tried has been excellent
whether its the fish, the soup, or any meat dish has been
superb. The only discouragement is we can no longer enjoy the
wonderful former piano player whom we enjoyed so much. We
certainly enjoy bringing our friends to this restaurant, because
we know everything turns out to be above "excellent". You
certainly have our vote for the "best" restaurant rating in 50
or more miles around Sarasota. Can't wait you go back the
beginning of December."
