Tisha Palmer party of 2 ordered Shark Bites, Gator Bites,
Jamaican Pork Sandwich, Mahi Mahi Wrap and just about every
daiquiri possible. and rated the food excellent because, "Coming
from Illinois you don't get Shark Bites and Tropical Salsa every
day!" and writes on August 28, 2006, "February was the first
visit to Siesta Key. Hit the beach first and later that
afternoon headed for the Daiquiri Deck. We had great service and
excellent food. My favorite was the Shark Bites and Tropical
Salsa. Next trip to Siesta Key was the beginning of May; landed
at the airport, checked in to the hotel and before heading to
the beach had to hit the deck for a few drinks and a little
food. New favorite now the Mahi Mahi Wrap. The last trip was the
end of May when my husband and I got married on the beach. The
night before the wedding about 20 of us gathered at deck.
Couldn't have asked for better service. Siesta Key Catering,
same people who run the Daiquiri Deck, served at our wedding.
Tried one other restaurant during my last visit and I have to
say the food and service didn't compare to the Daiquiri Deck."

writes on July 16, 2006, "We had lunch at the Daiquiri Deck on
our first day of vacation. I had grilled mahi mahi and it was
delicious. It was fresh, hot and made to order. We ate out on
the deck and watched the activity on the street. We went back
for dinner another day."

Anonymous rated the food fair because, "It was just ok" They
ordered BBQ Shrimp Wrap Conch Chowder and write on June 21,
2004, "This is my first time writing a review at this website,
even though I use it often to help choose restaurants in the
Sarasota area. The experience we had was such a disappointing
one, others should be forewarned. It was a beautiful day, so we
wanted to go someplace with outside seating. We chose the
Daiquiri Deck. After getting our table, I visited the restroom.
It was not too clean and there was no toilet paper.
Unfortunately, this was the highlight of our visit there. When I
got back to the table, our waitress had still not been by. When
she got there, our first drink order was a non-alcoholic Pina
Colada...they didn't make them. This is a place that specializes
in frozen drinks!) So we settled for 2 strawberry daiquiris got
a "green parrot". It seemed to take a long time to get our
drinks. She delivered them and we never saw her again. After
about ten minutes, we spotted her and flagged her down. She
asked "What??" I asked if we could order. Her reply was she
thought she already took our order. DUH! I ordered a BOWL of
soup along with everyone else's order. At that point she said,
"Oh yeah, it's Happy Hour, and the drinks are 2 for 1".She told
us after we ordered and we never got our 2nd drink. No surprise.
After another long wait, our food was delivered by what looked
like a 15 year old dishwasher. NO SOUP, though. After another
few minutes, he was back with a very small cup. I asked if that
was a bowl and he said yes. Surprisingly, I was able to flag
down our waitress again and asked her about the soup. She said
it was only a cup, because all the BOWLS WERE DIRTY. I was
somewhat in shock that she would tell a customer such a thing.
She did take the cup of soup off of our bill, which still came
to $35.00 for 2 kids meals,2 non-alcoholic drinks, a sandwich, a
coke, and a daiquiri. With all of the great places in Sarasota,
don't waste your time and money on this one!!"
