Anonymous party of 2 had breakfast at the Clock
Restaurant in Venice, FL and rated the food excellent because,
"breakfast and how wrong can a breakfast be? It was quite good!"
and writes on March 30, 2007, "I visited here at least 12 times
during the winter I spent in Venice in 2007.
There is a problem with service at this place. It comes from the
top. Rude waitresses, altho' we did find a nice one and asked
for her table most of the time. When a guest forgot to ask, we
sometimes ended up with the RUDE one who seemed always unhappy
and rushed. She may have been the boss, but I am not sure. A
couple of times we got two others who were rude, altho' less so.
Rolling the eyes for a special request, e.g.
Food great and cheap, so we went back, but they need help in the
ATTITUDE area!"

Restaurant and ordered Chicken strips, hamburger, egg breakfast
and rated the food very good because, "It was fast, reasonably
priced and tasty." and writes on May 27, 2006, "We visited this
restaurant during a crowded weekday morning. We had to wait a
few minutes for a table but it wasn't too bad. Our waitress was
very busy but friendly and polite and was quick with the coffee
refilling. Our food was so fast! My chicken stripes were very
good and not too greasy. My dad liked the hamburger and
especially the fries. My mom had a breakfast with eggs and ham
and she thought the ham was too tough but liked everything else.
There were a lot of kids so I think it's a good place to take
them."

An anonymous writer who says they has visited the
restaurant 12 times writes on 1/19/2004: "While this restaurant
is ok most of the time, our recent experience there sent us
packing - not to return. Our first stop, the restrooms, were
equally filthy and in disrepair in the male and female
department. The path, by the waitress station, presented a view
of dry rotted walls - not a good beginning. Our waitress was
rude, unorganized and seemed to be "too busy" to even stand
still long enough to ask her a question. We waited 30 minutes
for our hot wing appetizer and had to beg for condiments. When
one of our dinners FINALLY arrived, the waitress said, "Didn't
'she' tell you about the special being out?" We have no idea who
"she" was supposed to be, and it seemed like this waitress
wanted to blame someone else for her not telling us that only
one of our dinners would be served to us! Having had this
waitress before with equally poor service, we were fed up and
stated as much. She picked up the one dinner and said "OK fine,
have a nice night." in a snotty tone of voice. We left as the
manager stood by and did nothing. I guess they not only don't
have time to clean or repair this restaurant, but also don't
care if they keep customers. Eat here at your own risk!!! Ick. "
