party of 4 had dinner at Cafe Baci and rated the Flounder,
Eggplant Parm., seafood w. capalinni excellent because, "All
four diners were delighted with the taste, presentation,
freshness of our entrees" and writes on October 1, 2006, "We all
rated the food excellent. The presentation was lovely,
especially the eggplant. We all thought the marinara sauce was
the best we've had anywhere in the world, light and fresh, and
one of us is a real Italian food nut! The salads were good, the
flounder really tops. We all liked the flavoring of the dipping
oil, and the bread was delicious.
Service was quite pleasant, though our waitress could have been
a bit more polished, and she kind of forgot about us once we
were served. Our reservation was honored on time, which we
appreciated.
We hadn't been to this oldie restaurant for years, (so many
choices now in Sarasota), and thought about it because of having
read about the refurbishing. We'll certainly be back. Our
guests, foodies from Hawaii, couldn't have been happier."

The
anonymous party of 4 dined at Cafe Baci on 11/28/2002 and
writes: "Excellent because of the quality of the food, the
generous servings, the moderate price, & the friendly staff" Anonymous
writes on 11/2/2002: "I was very disappointed when I got to Cafe
Baci because it seemed that it was a place only for senior
citizens. There was no one there under 55 yrs old. We ordered
the Filet Mignon and it was like shoe leather and the lasagna
was not very attractive at all. The waiter even commented that
it tastes better than it looks. We were also suppose to get a
dinner salad that we never received and worse of all we spent
$50.00. We did not complain to anyone because we were so
disappointed that we left. I felt really bad for my date that
spent the money for such a bad quality steak." Barbara
Elliot and 3 friends dined at Cafe Baci and writes on 4/23/2002:
"Every one of our dishes was fantastic. The complimentary pasta
was cooked perfect and the fish was fresh" Kathy Long
writes on 4/15/2002: "The food was superb and the dessert as
they say was "to die for". My husband had the lasagna and
commented that it was the best he had ever had. I had the veal
parmigiana and it was so tender. The crème brulee was as good as
the one I had in Vermont last summer at the New England Culinary
restaurant in Burlington." Margaret
Johnston dined with 3 others and writes on 5/14/2001: "The pasta
was very tender; seafood was also wonderful. Party of four
ordered four different selections and all were excellent. Server
made an excellent wine recommendation.
Ambiance is fresh and pleasant--lots of green and white and
outdoorsy-looking. Overall, a wonderful dining experience.
But--make reservations!!" |
