Anonymous, Party of 6 ordered Seared Tuna, Filet
Mignon, Rack of Lamb, Duck and rated the food excellent because,
"flavor, preparation and presentation were wonderful." and
writes on July 30, 2006, "This restaurant's food has a high WOW
factor which should keep it very successful. We make a habit of
dining at locally owned restaurants and this one moves up the
list several notches after this visit. The steaks, duck breast,
rack of lamb were superb, the appetizers (crab cake stack, soup)
were excellent, and Blasé can be proud of their martinis (just
right). We're thrilled to have found this very laid back Siesta
Key dining spot. The exterior doesn't tell you a thing about
what's inside, and we found the decor to be interesting and
pleasing to the eye. Cheers!"

Anonymous party of 10 had dinner and rated the
food very good because, "prompt service, cheerful accommodation
of children, attention to details, no problems with orders" and
writes on January 30, 2005, "Our second Christmas Eve outing
here for dinner, including small children. Both times we had
good service, fresh food, timely service. Children were well
accommodated for food choices, seating arrangements, and
timeliness of food arrival.
Overall a good family experience. Menu satisfied both
conservative and more adventurous palates."
Anonymous rated the food excellent because,
"Freshness, preparation and taste" Anonymous ordered Tuna, Duck,
Chicken and writes on 11/6/2004: "What a pleasant surprise Blasé
Café was on a recent trip to Siesta Key. Being greeted by the
patron is always a good feeling but Cynthia makes this initial
experience delightful. The ambience was superb, the décor, the
background music the menu had my companion and I salivating
before any food reached the table. Always suspicious of a
restaurant’s claim about the quality of the tuna I did order the
Sashimi appetizer and the flavor and quality of the fish did
impress me. The crab and artichoke appetizer tasted divine and
my partner lost more than she thought she would as I frequently
leant over the table for yet another taste. The waitress managed
to find us a wine that complimented the food and was very
pleasant to drink in between courses. “Best duck I’ve had in
years” was a phrase heard from the table, cooked to perfection
with a delightful sauce, when I go back I will be sure to order
this again.
Feeling that a signature chicken entrée had to be sampled was
perhaps my only mistake of the evening. Having to compare a very
commendable poultry dish to the “Best duck I’ve had in years”
was tough. I would imagine if you do not try the duck and you
are fond of the original white meat you will not be unimpressed
by this tasty offering. Unfortunately, or fortunately if I’m
thinking of my waistline my partner and I did not have any room
left for dessert. I guess it’s a recurring problem for me
especially if the appetizer and entrée are up to par and my
experience at Blasé Café certainly exceeded my expectations."
Jim Woodside visited Blasé Cafe on 7/17/2003 and
rated the food excellent because, "The seafood was fresh and
deliciously prepared." His party of 2 ordered grouper and salmon
and he writes, "My wife and I stumbled onto this restaurant when
walking around in the Siesta Village looking for a place to have
dinner. The small exterior was a little misleading for what you
experience when you walk in. The owner/hostess/waitress was very
friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very inviting and
eclectic. But the highlight was the food. It was incredible. We
will be returning on our next visit to Siesta Key -- hopefully
soon! I had pistachio crusted grouper with a light white
wine/butter sauce. My wife had a salmon fillet that was baked
with a basil chipinade (sp) coating and a white wine/butter
sauce. Both pieces of fish were cooked perfectly -- not
overdone, which many restaurants do with fish. Served with both
meals was mashed potatoes infused with rosemary and roasted red
pepper puree. For dessert I had one of the best pieces of Key
Lime Pie I've tasted in Florida. All in all, an incredible meal.
I highly recommend it."
Rocco Carlile writes: "A charming little place
with some of the best food in Florida. The service was excellent
and the chef/owner took the time to say hello and share his
mom's black bean soup recipe. I have personally recommended this
restaurant to at least 8 of my friends and without exception,
every one of them expressed the same opinion. I love Sarasota
and hope to retire there someday. The Blasé will be my second
home next to the beach and the golf course!"
